Ozone Production Theory

All ozone is produced directly or indirectly by oxygen gas (O2) being energized to split and reform into Ozone (O3).  This is accomplished by applying an alternating voltage across a gas.  The higher the frequency the higher the energy in the gas and the lower the voltage required to energize the system.

In the case of VUV ozone producing lamps, the energy of the alternating current is applied to a tube of quartz containing mercury gas which is excited to produced ultraviolet light which then excites the oxygen outside the quartz tube to form ozone.

Our ozone generator cartridges is used in all Prozone Very Ultra Violet (VUV) systems to provide simple and reliable operation.  The arc tube is totally isolated from vibration, corrosion, temperature, shock, and handling by service personnel.  Since 1981, the Prozone ozone generator has set the reliability standard in the industry.  With a return rate less than .1%, its staistical dependability has been proven through substantial volumes.
